shares your thoughts of smoking in society today and what you have
learned..
When I was looking for ads for this project I found that it is very difficult to find modern ads for cigarettes, they are all anti-smoking! Do not get me wrong that's great that the government is cracking down on these tobacco companies and their advertisements. It was just frustrating to find any! I ended up finding old ads for smoking. I learned a lot from this project and realised how deceiving ads can be. The ad can play on the viewers emotions and insecurities. I need to be more careful on how I listen to ads now. Smoking in my opinion is a gross and filthy addiction. I feel sorry for those who are caught up in the trap and do not want to quit. I am glad they are enforcing more laws now that discourage smoking and make the air cleaner for all of us.

Bullying
Bullying is a tool used by some people to make themselves feel better by putting others down. Either by physical torment, hateful text messages, or verbal abuse. Some people bully because they have low self esteem and hurting others and watching them suffer make the bully feel better about their self. Others like to control people, make you do what they want or else. They like the power they get from lording it over others. Sometimes people who were bullied in the past become bullies themselves because it is like they are taking revenge and getting back at those people who hurt them.
Bully can be very harmful because it can give you scars mentally that can stay with you your whole life. Many who have been bullied in past have hidden their pain till adulthood and need therapy. Being bullied can lead you down a road of depression, suicidal thoughts, drug and alcohol abuse and even suicide! Boys who are bullies mostly physically bully someone; punching, kicking spitting.. etc. Girls can do that too, but are more inclined to verbally assault someone, write their victim a nasty text message or facebook status or gossip and start rumors about the victim behind their back. You can stop bulling by telling an adult like your parents or a teacher about the problem, once an adult comes into the situation it usually blow over and save the victim from a lot of pain.
A person who bullies people can either bully them though physical, verbally or though computers, phones, Internet etc.. Some signs that you may be bullying someone are; you may say mean things about the person behind their back, you physically hurt them, or you go out of your way to hurt someone. People bully because sometime they have an abundance of pent up rage inside of them and the only way they know how to release it is through hurting others. Others bully because it makes them feel better about themselves, putting others down make their self esteem go up!
If you are being bullied you should tell a responsible adult right away, before you get hurt. You should also stand up for yourself and to the bully, though is may be intimidating. You may think you would be a tattletale if you tell on them. If you are being bullied you might feel angry, sad, lonely, depressed even suicidal! At school you should feel safe, have friends and be happy, nobody should make you feel anything other than that.
If you see some one being bullied you should immediately stand up for the victim, do not be the hero, but maybe go find a teacher or another adult that can settle the matter all together. When you see someone being bullied you might feel too scared to intervene and help, you could feel helpless to stop what is happening. You can help the bully by telling someone about what the bully is doing. If the bully learns how to be nice to people now the less people they will hurt in the long run.

6. Briefly explain how you can keep stress under control. Then provide me
with 7 examples from the site.
To get stress under control you should get a good night sleep, be realistic, don't overschedual, relax, exercise, eat well, think positive, and calmly take on the problem.
7. How can you build your resilience to stress? Please list all 7.
- Think of change as a challenging and normal part of life.
- See setbacks and problems as temporary and solvable.
- Believe that you will succeed if you keep working toward your goals.

http://life.familyeducation.com/teen/communication/39364.html and
copy down 10 of the 15 tips for teenagers to take control of potential
stressful situations at home.
When parents are unreasonable, don't try to reason with them. Smile and agree. It makes them think and feel embarrassed - maybe even guilty. Never walk away when they are talking. That makes them crazy.- When parents are reasonable - that is, when they give all kinds of reasons for a rule or decision - listen to them until they finish. Stay calm and then take each reason one at a time and tell them why you disagree. They won't know how to deal with this because they expect you to interrupt, get angry, or be disrespectful. Of course, you have to have some pretty good reasons of your own, or you're the unreasonable one.
- If your parent denies your request or won't allow you more freedom, don't ask, "Why?" This will only get you another reason that supports the "no." Rather than "Why?" it is better to ask, "What can I do to get the privilege, request, or freedom?" The "What can I do?" question will give you some idea of what you have to do to get a "yes."
- When parents get angry, it isn't the time to get angry back. A lot of times they're not upset with you, but with their boss, the neighbor, or the price of groceries. You just happen to be there at the wrong time. Look hurt. Slump in your chair and look at them with pitiful eyes. If this doesn't work, get out of the way when they're in a bad mood. They need some time and space. Go outside, to a friend's house, or to your room. Eventually they will settle down and miss you.
- Parents are unfair at times and this may make you angry. Don't discuss your complaints when either of you is angry or upset. Calm down and wait until they're in a good mood. Discuss your feelings later that day or in a few days.
- When discussing your complaints, opinions, or requests, do not act sassy and flippant. Do not raise your voice; instead, discuss the matter in a normal tone. If you holler or appear flippant, they will hear only this. If you stay calm and talk, they may hear what you say.
- Do not create situations where there is a winner and a loser. You're the child and will probably lose most of the time. How many times have you grounded your mother or taken away the phone privileges from your dad? Try to compromise and work out a situation where both of you win.
- If you have trouble talking to your parents, or if they get angry every time you try to discuss something, write a note. Put it on their pillow. Parents are pushovers for notes like this and will probably keep them forever.
- Take your mom or dad out alone occasionally. Tell them you want just the two of you to go on a walk or out to eat. They'll be worried at first, because they'll think you're going to tell them something terrible. Don't - just tell them you like having them all to yourself once in a while. They will probably cry or hug you. Put up with it.
- Spend some time in the same room with your parents while they are watching TV or reading. Sit down and talk to them about school, your friends, or something else that interests you. At first they may think you're on some type of drug because of the change in your behavior. They'll get over this feeling and will love the "new you."

10. Durring this assignment I learned that there is actually good and bad stress. Good stress is very useful for school assignments and sport activities while bad stress can be very damaging. Avoiding stress is as easy as having a good night sleep and eating healthy! Stress can cause people to become moody and irritible even sick. If you are faced with a stressful situation at home with your parents it smart not to yell back or walk away that can make your parents even more angry! I plan to use this information as exams come next week. I have to make sure I go to made before the wee hours in the morning!

Nutrition Poster
For my poster on my choice of my 'perfect' food, I choose eggs. I found out the eggs are filled with vitamins and nutrients that are essential to get and keep a heathly body. Eggs are perfect for a quick and easy breakfast because eggs are filled with protein which can give you lasting energy throughout the day. Eggs are also one of the only foods that you can get your daily intake of vitamin D. For only 70 calories, eggs are a great choice for someone who is watching their weight. In a recent study, they found out that if people eat eggs for breakfast instead of bagels or yogurt, they actually lost weight and gained more energy. If you eat eggs you do have more energy for the rest of the day and your brain works better. One thing that I found out from the project was that there is no nutritional difference between brown eggs or white eggs. There is also many delicious resipes that you can make with eggs. I thought this project was a little bit interesting I found out that I knew a lot about eggs that I didn't think I knew.
